Belize is located on the east coast of Central America and
is bordered by Mexico and Guatemala.
Government
Belize is a former British dependent territory, formerly
known as British Honduras. It gained full independence in
1981. The legal system is based on English Common Law. Belize
is politically very stable.
Types of Company
The company legislation is very flexible allowing International
Business Companies (IBC's) to operate in a way most suitable
to the beneficial owners.
Note:
From 1 July 2001 bearer shares may still be used but
they must be retained physically by an approved intermediary.
